Overview:

The Diploma Level 2 is for those working in the health or social care setting. It is designed for full or part time workers, paid and voluntary, as well as day or night workers.

There Are 3 Pathways: 

  • Generic Health and Social Care
  • Dementia
  • Learning Disability

All learners who wish to undertake this qualification must be at least 16yrs of age. It will be internally assessed by a range of methods. This will include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments, questioning, and witness testimony from colleagues or managers. Learners will need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.

How Long Will It Take To Complete?

Learners can usually complete the Diploma in a year or less.

How Many Credits Are Required To Complete The Qualification?

There are 9 Mandatory units within the level 2.

Within the level 2 there is a choice of 27 optional units.

The Diploma will require 46 credits in total.

To complete the Apprenticeship Level 2 in health & Social care you must only choose the units appropriate to your working role. This qualification is the progression from the Induction award.
