This qualification is aimed at learners aged 18+, and will support the
development of staff in a number of job roles in the adult care sector. It
will support learners to develop specialist knowledge and skills in their
area of responsibility and enable learners to promote a values-based
culture within their setting.

This qualification acts as a progression route to the Level 5 Diploma in 
Leadership and Management for Adult Care qualification.

Learners must achieve a minimum of 70 credits to achieve the Level 4
Diploma in Adult Care.

36 credits must be achieved from the mandatory group. Learners must
achieve 34 credits from the optional units.

Learners can progress into a number of lead practitioner job roles within
the adult care sector, such as:

• Community Care/Support Officer
• Social Care Assessor
• Care Assessment Officer
• Social Services Officer
• Brokerage Worker
• Rehabilitation and Reablement Assistant
• Independence Support Assistant
• Reablement Support Worker/Officer
• Assistive Technology Co-ordinator/Officer
